The first basic public prosecutor's office announced that from the reports collected so far, it appears that no organizational unit and security personnel of the protest March 15 u Belgrade they did not use a "sound cannon", and the prosecution will continue to work on establishing the reasons for provoking the behavior of citizens on a critical occasion".
The announcement states that on March 16, based on media information, on various portals as well as videos published on social networks, and in connection with the event of 19.11:15 p.m. on March XNUMX, when, according to the statements of local citizens, a loud and unusual sound was heard, which caused panic, running, pushing and falling of the gathered citizens, in Kralja Milana Street, it formed a case and sent a request for the collection of the necessary information to the Ministry of Interior, RS, and the Police Directorate.
Determine whether any generally dangerous means were used
It is added that the mentioned request asked to determine whether on that occasion pyrotechnic weapons or some other generally dangerous means were used, which caused or could cause danger to the life or body of the citizens present.
Also, in addition to the MUP report, data from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Health and the Security Information Agency were submitted to the prosecution, the statement added.
"From all of the above, i.e. from the reports of all the above-mentioned institutions, it is unequivocally established that none of the above-mentioned organizational units and members engaged in the security of the protest heard, saw or used the so-called sound cannon," the announcement states.
Also, from the Analysis of the Ministry of Defense - Military Technical Institute, it emerges that based on the available data and open sources, there are no indications that the "sound cannon" system was used at the critical moment, the Prosecution states.
No health damage caused by noise
It is also added that the letter from the Ministry of Health shows that based on the collected reports of the competent health institutions in the territory of the city of Belgrade, it is unequivocally determined that the patients who were examined in the period from March 15 to 17 had no clinical signs of acute acoustic trauma, nor were any other damages caused by intense, concentrated, high-frequency noise above 100 and more decibels objectively determined by the complete diagnostics.
Along with the Police Directorate's report, the statement of the manager of the legal team of the citizens' association "Belgrade Center for Human Rights", Vladica Ilic, was submitted, who explained the allegations presented to the media, that a large number of citizens contacted the association with certain health complaints after the mentioned event, i.e. that they advised citizens to fill out a survey and a guide on their website regarding the event. It is stated that this non-governmental organization, like other non-governmental organizations, will contact the prosecutor's office directly.
