All-Serbian Parliament, which is planned in Saturday, June 8th in Belgrade, will gather several thousand people from Serbia and Republika Srpska, broadcast by RTS.
The decision to hold the All-Serbian Parliament was made based on an agreement between the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and the President of the Republic of Srpska, Milorad Dodik. On that occasion, Vučić stated that he accepted Dodik's idea that the Assembly of the Serbian People, of Serbia and Srpska, be held immediately after the adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly, and that the Assembly will be held after the voting in the UN General Assembly.
On Saturday, the assembly will begin with a prayer in the Church of St. Sava, it will continue with meetings of the president, a joint session of the Government, but also of businessmen, representatives of various associations, cultural institutions of Serbia and Republika Srpska.
For the first time, almost all folklore ensembles of Serbia and Republika Srpska will gather in one place. About 2.500 players from as many as 48 cultural and artistic societies will perform a mix of Serbian folk dances on Belgrade's Republic Square.
Apart from the capital, programs are planned throughout Serbia.
"Drina should not be a dividing line, but a backbone, and it is that." It is very important that Serbs on both sides, in terms of identity, not state, are united on all important issues for the future of the Serbian people," said Minister of Information and Telecommunications Dejan Ristić.
Cvijanović: This is a sign of unity
Confirmation of unity, continuation of cooperation, strengthening of connections with good neighborly relations, this is how Banja Luka sees some of the objectives of the Parliament. They also suit those who are afraid of this kind of gathering.
"No one needs to be afraid, this is a sign of our unity, this is not against anyone else's interest." You will always have those who are dissatisfied, this is a pure idea, based on pure intentions, it will remain so even after the assembly is over, but it will pave the way for common goals", says Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović.
A declaration on the situation with the Serbian people will also be presented
"We will have a lot of important and common things in the sphere of culture and that all the tasks regarding the construction of the Jasenovac Victims Museum in Donja Gradina and in Belgrade should be finally determined. It is extremely important to start with it", believes Vučić.
A declaration will be presented at the upcoming All-Serbian Parliament, which should then be adopted by the assemblies of Serbia and Republika Srpska. That declaration will describe the current situation with the Serbian people wherever they live, as well as future steps.
