While on summit leaders of member states Of the European Union, EU institutions and Western Balkans celebrated accession in Tivat Montenegro to the "European family", possibly as early as 2028, in Belgrade, on June 5, the faithful took the last lines to kiss the Girdle of the Blessed Virgin in the Church of St. Sava. More than a million people are, boasted the Serbian Orthodox Church, came to bow before the relic that the Orthodox believe healed the wife of the Byzantine emperor Leo VI the Wise. They waited patiently, day and night, between eight and nine o'clock.
The Miraculous Girdle of the Blessed Virgin Mary he arrived in Belgrade on May 20. He was welcomed at the airport by Patriarch Porfirije Perić and President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, who expressed the hope that the Holy Belt will bring "the miracles we hope for", help us to be "less exposed to the attacks of various foreign powers" and "bring the Serbian ship into a peaceful port".

"Group 87" mission in Montenegro
Two weeks later, on June 3rd, 87 Serbian citizens charter Air Serbia flew from Belgrade to Tivat with the banners "Serbia is winning" in order to make some contribution to the foreign policy of the President of Serbia, perhaps as one of the "miracles" that Vučić hoped for.
Identified as progressive loyalists hardened on various special party assignments, many of them with thick criminal records, they were driven back the same day to where they came from, where they will be able to beat students and citizens with the protection of the police, guard Chaciland and they do whatever they are told.

Bruka broke and stuck to the state of Serbia, which responded with a one-day strike arresting Montenegrin citizens at border crossings and "Nikola Tesla" airport
A day later, on June 4, Vučić arrived at the summit in Montenegro, from where he told the citizens of Serbia that Serbia is the regional economic champion. The regime's tabloids tried their hardest to convey the impression that the head of state and Iceland is talking on equal footing with the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz...
Descendants of Nemanjić and Hrebeljanović and EU
The European Union is far from perfect, but membership in that organization is the best, perhaps the only, chance for Serbia to reach a socially and economically developed, democratic society ruled by law in the foreseeable future. There is no doubt that Aleksandar Vučić is leading the country in the opposite direction, because a fundamental approach to the European Union would be political suicide for him and his regime.
The only political force that can defeat the established autocratic, repressive and anti-European system that has divided society into castes that do not have the same rights, is the student movement at the moment.
Although the requirements students to a good extent, they match what the EU is asking from Vučić, although the students in 2025 went to Brussels by bicycle, they did not publicly define Serbia's membership in the European Union as one of their political priorities. European Union flags are conspicuously absent from the student protests.
On the contrary, since the Vidovdan protest last year, the messages of the rebellious students highlight the Kosovo mythology that culminated Memorandum on Kosovo and Metohija May 17 of this year. That narrative fully fits into the religious experience surrounding the Church of Saint Sava, where the Girdle of the Blessed Virgin was exhibited, and sharply contrasts with the secular atmosphere that reigned in Tivat, where the path was drawn for the countries of the Western Balkans as the European Union.
Serbian cacophony
The young people of Serbia, if they succeed in fighting the progressive conglomerate that has taken over the country, will decide on what values they want to base the necessary general reconstruction of society and the state apparatus, whether they want to try to connect with Montenegro and Albania, which are close at hand, i.e. two, from EU membership. The road to the European Union certainly does not lead through Kosovo and Metohija.
Looking at things from the point of view of those who believe that EU membership should be Serbia's national priority, it is to be hoped that today's students and young people, who have harnessed themselves to change the country, will not succumb to the heavenly rapture of the previous generations who have been wandering around the Serbia of Nemanjić and Hrebeljanović for four decades trying to catch their own tail; that while still dreaming of the return of the Serbian state to Kosovo and Metohija, they will not, in search of a better life than the one in Serbia stranded on myths, pack their Kosovo identity and vows and emigrate to Western countries, where they will have children and grandchildren in member states of the hated NATO.
Summing up the external signs, such a scenario appears. Delving into the student movement, Srđan Majstorović from the Center for European Policies (CEP) says that their latest survey shows that more than 60 percent of those who support it are in favor of Serbia's membership in the European Union.
It's as if "Wherever I go, I return to you again, who can steal Kosovo from my soul" is blaring from the loudspeakers in Serbia, and somewhere in the background you can barely make out "Joy, spark of all beauty, daughter of Elysium! Intoxicating power of beauty, sublime mission", the lines of Schiller's Ode to Joy to the beats of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, on which the anthem of the European Union is based.
