Students in a video on the social network X warn that "Zvian's death has become a warning symbol that even the most closely guarded secrets eventually come to light, and that if you no longer answer to the regime, it will do everything to keep you from shaking its power."
"The death of the lawyer, former MP and advisor to the President of Serbia, Vladimir Cvijan, was discovered only three years after it happened and caused great public attention. Cvijan was one of the few, high-ranking politicians from the Serbian Progressive Party, who had the courage to publicly criticize the current president of the country, accusing the SNS of manipulation and authoritarian rule. Cvijan says that he is counting on the support of sincere party members who are not afraid. He claims that the party turned into everything she was fighting against, and the biggest problem is that everything is in the hands of Aleksandar Vučić", the students state in the film.

In that video, they also published a statement by Vladimir Cvijan:
"Here I am openly asking Mr. Vučić, the first deputy prime minister, the leader of the Serbian Progressive Party and the main anti-corruption fighter, why is he abusing the law? Why is he rigging the fair? Why are the sessions of the Serbian Progressive Party presidency turning into making a bulletin about who will be arrested next? I'm telling you openly, that was the topic of this last session and the penultimate one, and so on."
The students go on to say in the short video that Cvijan's death, which was officially ruled a drowning and suicide, did not attract much attention until individuals began investigating his disappearance.
"Despite claims that there were no traces of violence, the fact that the news of his death was completely covered up for almost three years without notifying his family raised doubts about the political background of this tragic event. What was even more disturbing was that the urn with his remains was laid in the Belgrade Lešće Cemetery without his last name on the tombstone. This case leads us to ask why the institutions and the media ignored his death for so long? Whose interest was it that the same a cover-up? The passage of time and the disclosure of information from official archives have opened up space for speculation, indicating that political forces that no longer benefited from Cvijan, perhaps did not want to allow his voice and criticism to upset the balance of power," the Law students said in the announcement.
