"People's, not progressive" was written on the banner that FDU students unfurled in front of the National Theater this evening. The actors of this theater joined them
Students of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts they gathered tonight in front of the National Theater in Belgrade to remind the government of their demands, for which they have been blocked for the 13th day.
Their banner read "People's, not Progressive."
The actors of the National Theater joined them, which is an unequivocal voice that they do not agree with their management.
Let's remind manager of the National Theater Svetislav Bule Goncić he resented the actors of the play "Master and Margarita" because they read the appeal of the Association of Dramatic Artists of Serbia demanding responsibility for the tragedy in Novi Sad, and then he left that guild association.
FDU students said about tonight's action:
"Tonight, 7.12. we gathered in front of the National Theatre, one of the most important institutions of dramatic culture in Belgrade, in order to recall our demands. The actors of the National Theater spontaneously joined us at this gathering, who announced themselves earlier today through the Union of Actors of the National Theater. On that occasion, they condemned the attacks on colleagues from the Belgrade Philharmonic, as well as any use of force in previous protests. They also supported our demands".
"Through this, we would like to publicly thank the Union of Actors of the National Theater for their support, and especially our colleagues who stood with us tonight: Slobodan Beštić, Aleksandar Đurica and Darko Tomović. We will be persistent in our demands. There is no stopping, everyone is in blockades".
As a reminder, the students of FDU are requesting the submission of a criminal complaint to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) to the competent prosecutor's office in Belgrade against the persons who physically attacked the students and professors, known to the public as Milija Koldžić, Aleksandar Jokić, Dušan Kostić, Milena Aleksić and Ivan Stanišić.
FDU students ask the MUP to immediately confirm the identities of those persons, but they also demand the identification of other members of the organized group that attacked the students, whose identities are not yet known to the public, and that they be sanctioned. If it is determined that they hold public positions, the students demand their dismissal.
The request is also the dismissal of Novi Belgrade City Council member Milije Koldžić and initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the coordinator of the distribution area of Elektrodistribucija Beograd. They condemn the violence against citizens who demand responsibility for the crime in Novi Sad, the arrest of activists and police torture.
