The statement of the Minister of the Interior, Ivica Dacic, about the Brussels Agreement, caused numerous reactions from the opposition. This minister, whose initials as Prime Minister of Serbia appeared next to Thaci's in the spring of 2014 at the First Framework Agreement, now claims that it was an international fraud.
Speaking on RTS, Minister Dacic said that the Brussels agreement "is a fraud because they didn't tell us so when we signed it. We entered into all those agreements in good faith solely in order to achieve compromises that would be in the interest of everyone in Kosovo and Metohija. And in the end, Serbia did everything, and the Pristina side started boycotting everything from the very beginning, with the open support of some countries."
Savo Manojlović, the leader of the Go - Change movement, believes that the Brussels agreement was "concluded unconstitutionally, which was clear from the very beginning. At the same time, it represented a political disaster, because with that act Serbia renounced the police and judiciary in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and got nothing in return."
According to him, the Brussels agreement "represented a concession to international representatives in exchange for support for a rerun of the radical-socialist era, which - unlike the democratic forces that could not or did not want to - was ready to make concessions regarding Kosovo and Metohija."
The Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) asked who exactly was deceived - Dacic as the signatory of the agreement or Aleksandar Vucic who left him to sign the document.
"11 years ago, Aleksandar Vučić tricked Ivica Dacić into signing the Brussels Agreement. Today, from the mouth of the same Ivica Dacić, we learn that, as he says, they were 'deceived'. Who exactly? He and Vučić? If Dacić is telling the truth, if Vučić and he are really deceived, it means that they admit that they did not know how to negotiate, that they are incapable of representing Serbia's interests, and that they must immediately resign because of this," SSP demands.
"This is not the first time that a group of self-interested dilettantes, embodied in Vučić, Dacić and their associates, has caused historical damage to Serbia. That is why we demand a complete analysis of all the agreements, deals and concessions that they have made in the past decade behind closed doors and against the will of the citizens," emphasizes the SSP.
The party also asks if "the shocking statement of Slobodan Milošević's successor is a moment of sincerity towards the end of his career, or is it just a consequence of the chronic fatigue of a man who commands the police for days and arrests and beats citizens who are looking for a normal life in their own country?"
"Whatever it is, one thing is certain: both he and Vučić must leave," the SSP said in a statement.
