The Assembly of Serbia stated resignation Prime Minister Miloš Vucevic.
The President of the Assembly of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, thanked Vučević for his "honorable and honest performance of his work" while he was in the position of prime minister, as well as for his "responsible and courageous demeanor."
Vučević submitted his irrevocable resignation on January 28, after students in a blockade in front of the premises of the Serbian Progressive Party were beaten up in Novi Sad by attackers who searched the party premises, while students were pasting stickers calling for a protest in Novi Sad.
With the resignation of the prime minister, the government becomes technical, and the 30-day period for electing a new government begins.
If a new government is not elected within 30 days, parliamentary elections will be held.
The government of Miloš Vučević was elected at the session held on May 2, 2024.
