The Union of Communist Youth of Yugoslavia (SKOJ) announced for Monday, January 12, in front of the embassy Venezuela in Belgrade, a gathering of support for the Venezuelan people and its president Nicolas Maduro, considering that they United States, "in the role of world 'policeman' as they see themselves", carried out aggression on Venezuela and kidnapped its president.
"Such actions represent an attack on a sovereign state and its people, who have been fighting for their own sovereignty for decades under heavy American sanctions," SKOJ said in a statement.
According to that organization, the United States of America has no right to kidnap political leaders of other countries and try them.
"That's why the people of Serbia, who also suffered bombing from the same imperialists and occupiers in 1999, must stand by the people of Venezuela," stated SKOJ.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were arrested by American forces on January 3 in Caracas. They made their statement on Monday (January 5) afternoon in a Manhattan court that they are not guilty of any of the four counts of the federal indictment, after the US extradited them in a dramatic military operation.
