In the police operation "Armageddon", six people in Serbia were arrested for child pornography. Folders with material downloaded from various platforms depicting child abuse were found with one of the suspects
In Belgrade, Pancevo, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Jagodina, as part of the "Armageddon" action, six persons suspected of showing, obtaining and possessing pornographic material and exploiting a minor were arrested in May. pornography, announced Ministry of Interior.
NI (19) from Belgrade, GI (65) from Pancevo, GP (35) from Novi Sad, MK (31) from Kragujevac, MV (29) from Belgrade and MU (23) from Jagodina were arrested.
They were detained for up to 48 hours and brought to the competent prosecutor's office with a criminal report.
In addition to them, the police filed a criminal complaint against MM (23) from Sremska Mitrovica.
For a long period of time, all the suspects downloaded, saved and shared content created by exploiting children for pornographic purposes via the Internet.
Cooperation with Slovenia and the USA
By searching the apartments of all the suspects, and inspecting their computers and computer equipment, the police found photographs and videos of the sexual exploitation of children.
In addition, folders with material downloaded from various platforms were found on the suspect MV's electronic devices, showing the abuse of children, as well as the most serious crimes committed against children.
Thanks to the information provided by the National Unit of Europol Slovenia, evidence was found that MU corresponded with a minor girl and demanded that she send him nude photos through social networks.
Crime data is also collected through the National Child Online Safety Contact Center and their Smart and Safe platform, as well as through the United States' National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) platform.
