Radio and Television of Serbia submitted a criminal complaint to the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade against unknown persons who present themselves as students in the blockade, and who have been since April 14 blocked RTS facilities in Takovska and Aberdareva streets and on Košutnjak, where they constantly invite other citizens to join them, according to a statement published on the RTS website.
The public service is also seeking the response of international institutions.
As stated in the application, since that time, journalists and other employees have been prevented from entering - especially in the technical services, which has the effect of preventing the broadcast of television programs. Employees are at risk in these violent blockades, because every time they enter the building, they are secured by the police, and on that occasion they are insulted, spat on and pushed, reports RTS.
In addition, the telephone numbers of three editors were published on social networks, and the so-called " warrants, which results in a direct threat to the safety and life of employees.
RTS requests that all classroom teachers of these crimes be identified and that criminal proceedings be initiated against them.
RTS requested an urgent reaction from the President of the European Commission, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, the OSCE representative in Serbia, the General Directorate for Neighborhood and Negotiations on the Enlargement of Serbia, ODHIR. He also addressed international organizations for the protection of journalists and the European Association of Public Broadcasting Services, according to the website of the public service.
