The leader of Kreni-Promeni has just measured his strength in the elections for the first time and achieved an excellent result in Belgrade Savo Manojlović tried to take the initiative in the ranks of the opposition, which on June 2 once again squandered a great chance to seriously start a progressive regime.
He called on the opposition MPs in the National Assembly to collectively return their mandates due to the violation of the electoral will of the citizens in Niš and several Belgrade municipalities and then jointly lead the people into general civil disobedience.
He gave them a deadline of 24 hours, until Wednesday at 10 o'clock.
That's not how it's done.
As could be expected, the opposition colleagues either "blown him away", or did not even deign to answer him.
"Manojlović had to first have a conversation with his colleagues from the opposition, and not send us an invitation through the media," said the leader of the Ecological Uprising, Aleksandar Jovanović Ćuta, who is always ready for a rebellion.
By God, Savo is also Belgrade
And the president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Lutovac, reminded that immediately after the stolen December elections, he proposed that the opposition MPs return their mandates, but that he did not find the understanding of the other opposition actors.
And as for civil disobedience: "Credible pressure implies joint synchronized action of key political actors, including the threat of civil disobedience and readiness for non-institutional struggle." There is no credible support without united pressure. Without the solidarity of various social groups and a respectable number of those who participate in it, the fight for the public interest remains without sharpness and lethality".
Dr. Dragan Milić from Niš told Manojlović and all other opposition leaders to leave them alone, that the people of Niš should go their own way and that they "will not see a scenario of bloody heads" in Nišava.
Only Nebojsa Zelenović's Zajedno party showed interest in Sava's invitation.
Marketing initiative
So far, Savo Manojlović has not given the impression of a man who is guided by irrational expectations and succumbs to emotions. On the contrary. It is hard to believe that he expected the leaders of the opposition to follow his ad hoc "leadership" call, when even the most banal matters are otherwise endlessly discussed within the opposition, let alone that the generally frightened citizens would suddenly risk lawsuits and dismissals and become "disobedient" overnight.
The unrealistic call of the head of the Move-Change campaign according to the command principle "follow me" can only be interpreted as an attempt to retain the initiative, aware of the moment in which he is the winner of the just-ended elections and his image of a man ready for a street fight to which he wants to remain consistent.
