There are different opinions within the academic community, especially regarding the manner of ending the school year and the possible continuation of the blockades, the Rector's College announced on Thursday. University in Belgrade after the meeting students, dean and rector.
The meeting discussed the Initiative on joint activities aimed at preserving the University and the further struggle to fulfill student demands.
"These activities are carried out in an academic, peaceful and dignified manner, with a constant effort to preserve the University as a space of dialogue, decency and common concern for the truth and the common good," said the statement after the meeting.
"We need time to harmonize attitudes and actions in a democratic and academic way," was the message of the participants of the meeting.
They point out that the responsibility of members of the academic community includes "defending the public interest, respecting different positions and insisting on consistency and decency."
The participants of the conversation assessed that "responsibility for the continuation of the crisis does not lie with students and professors, but with those who refuse to respond to the basic and reasonable demands of students for months."
"Silence and ignoring fair appeals only deepen the crisis of confidence and distance us from the solution", it was emphasized in the announcement of the Rector's College.
The participants of the meeting expressed their willingness to continue the talks "in the spirit of open dialogue, solidarity and concern for the future of society."
