The ceiling in the rural school in Saranov near Kragujevac collapsed on Tuesday, April 22, and local officials, even though they are members of the progressive ruling majority, told "Vreme" that they blame the contractor - the Kragujevac company "Sloga", which suddenly rose since the owners are friends with SNS
When is it in the center of Novi Sad? fallen canopy and killed 16 people, the progressives from the government immediately withdrew and began to deceive the public and defend themselves.
Now, six months later, something similar happened in a village near Kragujevac, and the politicians of the ruling majority are scared and angry. Because their children also go to that school, whose renovation has just been completed.
Only by a simple combination of circumstances and unprecedented luck, no one was hurt, because there were no classes in that classroom at that moment. If there were children under the suspended ceilings with all the construction - there would be at least serious injuries.
Nothing is the same after Novi Sad
"I am the parent of three children myself, and two of them go to that school, I am worried myself," said Nemanja Todorović, president of the local community of the village of Saranovo, for "Vreme". "After the winter break, the school was completely renovated - from the walls, floors, ceiling. Good luck on this break, so no one was hurt or injured."
Until the school is fixed, the children, about 70 of them, will attend classes online.
Before the opening of the school, all inspections came and checked the correctness of the works, he adds and says that the local community has nothing to do with it, but that he knows that the municipal inspector from Rača is currently checking all the documentation, as well as that the contractor was chosen by the state in a republican tender.
One "Vremena" source from the school confirms that the principal is also not to blame, that there were inspections and work permits were issued.
Branko Radosavljević, the president of the municipality of Rača, told "Vreme" that the municipality will insist that all the ceilings in the entire building be replaced before the children go to school. Especially in light of the falling canopy in Novi Sad.
"Because, you see what happened then... After all, safety is our first priority. We will get the opinion of the building inspector already on Friday. The one who is guilty must really be held accountable," he says.
Jobs with Veselinović and Andrej Vučić
The villagers are scared, says Nemanja Todorović, and they blame the contractor, the company "Sloga" from Kragujevac, for collapsing the ceiling at the elementary school.
"If I pay a craftsman to install something and it falls, then the craftsman is to blame," adds the president of the local community of Saranova.
According to "Vremena" sources, the Kragujevac company has been friends with the progressives for more than a decade.
"The owners are Dejan and Stojan Rangelov, son and father, and their attitude towards employees is such that no one stays longer than a couple of months in the company," says a newsroom source. "They are members of the SNS and also own the Industrial Hotel in Kragujevac, which is a cover for Zvonko Veselinović from Kosovo, and they are also dealing with Andrej Vučić. In the last ten years, they have also owned a rental car, they have several apartments in Belgrade on the water. Tenders for them either do not exist or are made specially."
The Rangelovs are the owners of the company "Sloga" in APR, as well as the Hotel Industrial, and their son, Dejan Rangelov, was on a list of the 50 most powerful people in Kragujevac. His biography states that he is the director of the aforementioned construction company and hotel
