The participants of the "I will not have a gay parade in Belgrade" protest, after the well-known rhetoric, went to the Government building to submit a request to ban the Pride Parade.
The protest "We protect the family - I will not have a gay parade in Belgrade" was held today in the center of Belgrade, in front of the monument to Tsar Nicholas. There were about fifty citizens. After short speeches, the protest march headed towards the Serbian Government building, so that the participants could submit a request to ban the Pride Parade.
The gathered citizens who oppose the holding of the Pride Week in Belgrade held up banners with the inscriptions: "Hands off our children", "Stop the promotion of LGBT and pedophilia in Serbia - forever", "Mom and dad are the law".
The former dean of the Faculty of Law in Novi Sad, Branislav Ristivojević, said that the Pride Parade is a great substitute for theses, because they claim that they are discriminated against, persecuted and victims, but the situation is completely different. He pointed out that no one in this society ever prohibited sexuality until the parades appeared.
"We are the ones who are imposed some prohibitions, we are the ones who have to suffer what is imposed on us in society", said Ristivojević.
The representative of the association "Doctors and Parents for Science and Ethics", Nada Gladić, said that there may be few people on the street who are against the gay parade, but that they speak for 95 percent of the citizens of Serbia. She pointed out that she does not want to allow the "LGBT sect" to sanction and punish all those who do not want to join it, and she called on parents to be careful about what their children learn in school.
The president of the "Svetoslavlje" association, Jasmina Lemajić, said that the Serbian values of Svetoslavja have no alternative.
"The attempt to adopt the Law on Same-Sex Unions is just a prelude to something worse," Lemajić stressed and added that the next step is the legalization of pedophilia. After short speeches, the protest march headed towards the Serbian Government building, so that the participants could submit a request to ban the Pride Parade.

People's representative of Dveri Ivan Kostić and Belgrade councilor of the Patriotic Bloc Borislav Antonijević were seen at the protest. Citizens also carried a banner in the Russian language.
A year ago, before Europride in Belgrade, there were officials who opposed the holding of this manifestation. Patriarch Porfirio's speech in front of the Church of Saint Sava, on the eve of Europride, was remembered.
He spoke for about one hour. He explained the differences between Christian values, those that God prescribes, and those that he wants to impose on us. He also spoke about the meaning of the identity of a man and a woman who, by joining together, create a family that is the pillar of our society, about abortion, about textbooks and the school system that allows our children to come with those other values, and other values that have been imposed on us.
He also mentioned that everyone has the right to live as they want because "we don't judge, we pray for them" and that "we are against all kinds of violence, hatred, contempt, stigmatization and those who spread ideas", but he also said that is "unacceptable LGBT for us Christians."
"Therefore, it is understandable," he said, "that we oppose the so-called Europride parading through the streets of the city of the Virgin."
In mid-August, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, stated that while he is the president, he will not sign the law on same-sex marriages, nor the law that, as he said, will create "a third gender where you are not a man or a woman."

After today's rally "For the salvation of Serbia" in Belgrade, the Serbian Orthodox Church held a prayer for the salvation of the family in front of the Church of Saint Sava, and in an almost hour-long address, Patriarch Porfije spoke about the difference between the Christian identity and the gospel system of values respected by the Serb brothers, and those which others, who have different values, want to impose on us.
