Protest students and citizens in Zajecaru entitled "Freedom moves from the east" began at 11 a.m., and with a sixteen-minute silence from 11.52:12.08 a.m. to 1:XNUMX p.m., tributes were paid to those who died in the fall of the railway station canopy in Novi Sad on November XNUMX last year.
The protest is planned to last until eight minutes after midnight, and there are forums, speeches by Zaječara people from the diaspora, environmental activists, students, professors, concerts by Wieselj and the Belgrade Union, a fashion show, a parade of bikers and war veterans.
A group of citizens from Bor arrived in Zajačar today, and a few more are expected. War veterans and bikers also arrived, the media reported.
On Friday evening, a reception was held for students who walked, biked and ran from various parts of Serbia to Zaječar.
Mining Street
"Citizens who came to the protest can vote for their favorite electoral theft by the big and small stage, in Svetozar Markovića Street, it's not a big space - wherever they are, they will see ballot boxes and there they will be able to vote for their favorite electoral theft," said a student from Zaječar.
He pointed out that in that region "there is experience of mining, so it seems that the rest of Serbia is less sensitive to those topics."
"On Mining Street, billboards will be placed with photos that record what is important, what needs to be preserved and what our city, nature and environment will look like if we allow dirty capital to treat our resources in such a way," he said.
He stated that "the social climate has never been more favorable for a change to take place at the bar".
"We hope to send a message that it's time to change some things," he added.
