Support group to the provincial representative of the Movement of Free Citizens Radivoje Jovović was organized in Novi Sad.
The gathering was invited by a self-organized group of students from the Faculty of Legal and Business Studies "Dr. Lazar Vrkatić". Jovović is an assistant professor at that faculty.
Students and other citizens gathered at 10:30 a.m. at the Serbian National Theatre, and then walked to the Catholic Gate, and then to the building where Jovović lives, and where he is under house arrest.
On that occasion, they said that no one is free, while everyone is not free and expressed their support for their professor.
Those gathered shouted "freedom for people, prison for non-humans" and carried messages "Radivoj's voice is the voice of freedom", "Let my friend go", "They are afraid of Radivoj's words" and the like.
The idea is to take advantage of Jovović's legal right to an hour's walk and for the protest column to meet at his house during that period, even though he is forbidden to communicate with the public, i.e. he is forbidden to use the phone and the Internet.
By the decision of the Basic Court on August 20, Jovović was remanded in custody in the detention unit of the Klisa District Prison until August 27, when his lawyers' appeal was accepted, and his detention was then replaced by a ban on leaving the apartment.
