After the incidents in front of the Belgrade Assembly on Thursday, five activists were detained for violent behavior. Opposition political organizations demand that they be released immediately and blame "the private security of Aleksandar Šapić" for the violence.
Initiative "The bridge remains" she invited the citizens to come in as large a number as possible on Friday at 11 a.m. in front of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Savska Street in order to support the five activists who will be heard there after they were detained during the incidents in front Belgrade Assembly that happened on Thursday.
Dejan Atanacković, Nebojša Petrović, Dušan Janković and Ilija Vučević, activists of the Initiative "The Bridge Remains" and Srđan Marković, an activist of the association "Zaštititimo Blok 4", were detained for up to 48 hours after being brought to the Novi Beograd Police Station on Thursday.
They are charged with the criminal offense of violent behavior at a public gathering.
"After four months of day and night fighting for the bridge, your support for our Dejan, Ilija, Nebojša, Dulet and Srđan means to us", they said from the Most Remains initiative.
Legal support
The Kreni-permeni movement announced earlier that it would provide legal support to activists and protest participants.
"We will provide legal assistance to every threatened and arrested citizen," said Nikola Tadić, lawyer and Kreni-promeni councilor.
Citizens also gathered in front of the Novi Beograd police station on Thursday afternoon and blocked Mihajla Pupin Boulevard in the direction of the city center.
Determine the responsibility of private security
And the Serbia Center Party demands the immediate release of all five activists, as there is no reason for their detention since the incident was caused by members of Aleksandar Šapić's private security, as confirmed by numerous videos.
The Serbia Center also demands that the responsibility of members of private security who, by going out into the street, where they physically attacked citizens, violated the powers allowed by law, which clearly stipulate that they may only perform protection work inside the facility, should be determined.

The fact that the police, instead of citizens, protected thugs who dealt with the gathered citizens using metal chains and other items that do not belong in the equipment of security personnel, but in the arsenal of mafia, hooligan and fan gangs, is worrying, according to the SrCa announcement.
Replace the city secretary for emergency situations
The Free Citizens Movement will demand the dismissal of the city secretary for emergency situations, Darko Glavaš, due to the behavior and violence of private security against the citizens gathered in front of the City Assembly, said the president of the Belgrade Board of PSG and councilor in the Belgrade Assembly, Stefan Simić.
He says that the statements of the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dačić that the police came at the invitation of people from the Assembly are incorrect.
"The police were hidden in one of the rooms in full gear and we all saw them, so Dacic can tell his voters that." At the first sign of resistance outside, the police came out and began to deal with the gathered citizens. The citizens of Belgrade are paying the people who went out on the street today and beat them," Simic told N1 television.

After the President of Serbia publicly questioned the legality of Rector Vladan Đokić's participation in the student electoral list, the Rector replied that as a citizen and professor he was guaranteed the right to be elected. He argues that political engagement does not conflict with academic integrity, as long as it takes place outside university institutions
President Aleksandar Vučić's statement that the SNS will block the courts in Novi Sad raises serious questions about the attitude of the executive power towards the independence of the judiciary. While the courts are being accused of "injustice" and "color revolution", the president is sending a message that looks less and less like an institutional dialogue and more and more like an open confrontation with all those who are not loyal to him
The Court of Appeal in Novi Sad partially accepted the appeal of the defenders of the arrested activists and ordered house arrest with electronic monitoring for Marija Vasić, Lado Jovović and Lazar Dinić. They are prohibited from using the phone, the Internet and contacts with other people, and the measure will last until August 20.
After more than a month, the Russian Federal Security Service answered the question of "Vremena" about whether they investigated the events in Serbia on March 15 at 19:11 in the center of Belgrade
Professor of sociology Marija Vasić is still on hunger strike in the Special Prison Hospital in Belgrade, where she is placed in the psychiatric ward. Her lawyer, Aleksandar Petrović, warns that Vasić cannot walk, is receiving infusions and antibiotics, but that she is determined to persevere until the court decides on the fate of the detained activists.
Keeping sociology professor Marija Vasić in prison on charges of terrorism is an anti-civilization crime. Or grotesque, whatever you want. Why don't judges, prosecutors, policemen, security guards rebel against it
In a speech that made no sense from the point of view of logic and integrity, Vučić offered his voters everything they wanted to hear. But, all in contradictions. The spirit of rebellion can no longer return to the bottle because the bottle is broken
The Republic of Serbia is in danger. If we remain silent on the rigged process against political prisoners in Novi Sad and the Kraljeva case where the victims were declared violent, soon we will all go on hunger and thirst strikes for a shred of justice
