In these moments, the academic community must preserve its integrity and show solidarity and the fact that some moral and socially responsible things are above any title and position, the students announced today Faculty of Law University of Kragujevac.
They reminded that for months they have been fighting for a fairer and more equitable system that would be equal for everyone, in which everyone would enjoy the protection that is normal in regulated states.
Without accreditations
"We are witnessing a joint struggle, all the pressures and attacks, but we don't want to give up, but to fight even harder," said the students of the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac.
They pointed to the fact that many faculties "tried to introduce online teaching, for which those same faculties do not even have accreditation".
"We, the students of the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac, were presented with the same, at a meeting of all students with the dean and the Faculty Administration", they state in the statement and add that they are deeply concerned about this fact, because "in addition to online teaching playing off the meaning of the blockade and our entire struggle, just not having accreditation and pretending to have it raises the question of the validity of diplomas obtained in this way".
"Such a situation is not a solution for us, because students do not want to learn about a system that currently only exists in books and is not implemented - students want the fulfillment of requirements that are of general importance for all citizens of this country, because that would mean the first step towards independent and independent institutions, a step towards a functional system in which we would like to further our education and training", emphasized the student of the Faculty of Law of the University of Kragujevac.
They are worried about the election of members of the Government
They strongly condemned the "improper, illegitimate change of certain decrees, which put professors in an unenviable position, because of which they did not receive salaries and because of which they were further degraded."
They point out that they sent an email to the dean and expressed their concern about the election of members of the Government, "particularly concerned about the election of the Minister of Education".
"At the meeting with the administration and the dean, we also talked about the Ministry's threats that put the closure of the faculty and the University in Kragujevac, if all the faculties do not start working within a certain period, which we really consider scandalous statements and a way of intimidation," the statement added.
In addition to all that, the students of the Faculty of Law in Kragujevac state, "we have a situation where professors, deans, faculties, the entire University are silent, it remains silent when it is important that every voice be heard, especially the voice of the academic community, which should be one of the main pillars of a developed society".
