Former handball player and member SNS Vladimir Mandić was part of the group that protest on May 1 clashed with students and war veterans, she announced Mila Popovic, president of the Belgrade Committee of the SSP.
"Vlada Mandić, the first beater of the Serbian Progressive Party, the head of a group that attacked students and war veterans, and on the video you can see him kicking a young man," she wrote on the X social network.
Mandić is a former handball player and a prominent member of the SNS, "a man who registered 154 phantom voters, mostly officials from Republika Srpska," at his company's address, she added.
During the corona, torches were lit from its terraces and chants were chanted against Dragan Đilas, Popović said.
"His godfather is Dane Šijan, one of the owners of T&M Group Solutions, a company that secured the Arena during the theft of the elections in December 2023 and brought in fake voters, and now earns millions from beating citizens and allegedly securing public facilities. It is SNS 'decent Serbia' - beaters and extortionists from the people of Belgrade," wrote Mila Popović.
Who is Vladimir Mandic?
In previous years, the name of Vladimir Mandić was mentioned in several affairs - from his arrest in Montenegro, to the bringing of voters from Republika Srpska, to the accumulation of an incredible number of properties.
In Belgrade alone, Mandić has as many as 46 of them, writes Nova.rs.
The last Mandić affair was related to Cedomir Jovanović's claim that the former handball player sent 200 armed men to the Serbian Parliament on March 15.
Arrest
In September 2022, the police in Banja Luka arrested Mandić in the Borik settlement, and together with him, Adam Šukalo, also an official of the Serbian Progressive Party, was arrested.
The police then stopped the car in which the two were, searched the vehicle, and then, allegedly without explanation, took them into custody. They were interrogated by the police and then released, but it was not explained whether they were interrogated as citizens or whether the Republika Srpska authorities suspect them of a criminal offense.
Mandić was also taken during the campaign for the local elections in Nikšić, along with eight other people, among whom was a "person of security interest" from Belgrade, Dana Šijan, writes the portal Nova.rs.
Voter registration
In January 2024, it was discovered that a huge number of voters who do not live there were registered for the Belgrade elections in the building of the former handball player. Among them were a large number of officials of the Republika Srpska.
An incredible 154 voters were registered in Mandić's building for the Belgrade elections, while 121 voters were registered for the republican elections at the same address.
Real estate in the most luxurious locations
Nova.rs revealed at the end of last year that Mandic owns a large number of real estate in Belgrade. As can be seen by looking at the Real Estate Cadastre, Mandić owns properties of a total of 4.502 square meters, which are located in buildings in Dedinje and in the very center of the city, close to Belgrade on the water.
Jovanović: Mandic brought 200 armed men on March 15
A few days after the large student protest in Belgrade, the president of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Čedomir Jovanović stated that during the rally on March 15, there were 200 armed men brought by handball player Vladimir Mandić to the Belgrade City Assembly.
Jovanović said that there were "200 of them" in the City Assembly who entered in "Atlas osiguranje" uniforms.
"I found Guri in Zlatibor because it was his insurance, he sold it a year ago. Then I called Dacic and he stationed the police there. Those are the ones with caps, Vlada Mandić brought them. They didn't go out, Dacic said he wouldn't let them go out," Jovanovic said then, which is why he was called to the police for questioning.
