The third museum in the world will show the Serbian audience imperial porcelain and an inclusive exhibition about famous archaeological sites in Tajikistan and the Altai Mountains, and it will be an opportunity to attend the concerts of Ballet Jakobson and baritone Vasilij Gerel
The Hermitage is in Belgrade, and that's good news. This third largest museum in the world will be visiting the capital from tonight, Tuesday, only until Sunday during the "Hermitage Day", a manifestation of international cultural importance.
There are two exhibitions "Invisible Art" and "Imperial Porcelain" in the National Museum, and the Gala Concert of the Jakobson Ballet from St. Petersburg, which is one of the oldest ballet companies in Russia, will be held in the National Theater tonight, as an introduction to the "Hermitage Days".
The Hermitage preserves more than three million cultural monuments of different eras and peoples: from ancient times to our days, from the ancient world and the Old East to Western Europe and Russia. His vast collection is exhibited in six buildings on the banks of the Neva River. The main building is the Winter Palace, which was once the official residence of the Russian emperors, where as many as 350 exhibits are displayed in more than 60.000 halls. The collection, which now has around three million art and historical exhibits, was started two and a half centuries ago by Empress Catherine the Second.
Belgrade has never seen the two exhibitions hosted by the Hermitage.
"Imperial porcelain" is, needless to say, a special and biggest attraction. We are talking, of course, about services from the Romanov court, and therefore also about the Romanov imperial family, and about art.

What did the favorite cup of the Russian empress Yelisaveta Petrovna look like, what kind of plates was dessert served to Alexander the First, why did Nicholas the First love Gothic service so much, what dishes did the Russian emperors use at wedding banquets and during sea voyages on the yacht "Derzhava", or why The Raphael service was made for 20 years, and much more about imperial Russia is told in this exhibition. In order to give the audience the impression of being in the original setting, it was done under an identical floor to the one in the Hermitage.
At the center of the exhibition are the famous ceremonial sets used during lunches and receptions in the Winter Palace and the imperial residences. All these objects were precisely reconstructed by professional sculptors and artists based on historical models from the very rich collection of the Hermitage.
Replicas and modern media versions of images will talk about imperial Russia: portraits of emperors, picturesque depictions of royal residences, court tables and holidays.

Exhibition "Invisible art. At the limit of the visible" violates the museum rule - "It is forbidden to touch the exhibits!", because at this exhibition it is allowed, even mandatory, to touch them. It is dedicated to people with mental disorders and disorders, with poor hearing and vision. It has two parts. The first is dedicated to the findings of the Zoroastrian site of Penjikent (Tajikistan) and the excavations of the 5th Pazyrik Mound (Altay Mountains, Russia), which are presented with three-dimensional scenes of wall paintings of ancient Penjikent (VI-VIII century AD) and their animated reconstruction - interesting animated films that reveal the true meaning of the drawing. Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to see and touch reproduced fragments of the oldest known carpets and figurines of the 4th and 3rd centuries BC from the Pazyryk cemetery.
The second part of the exhibition is dedicated to dogs, the main helpers of blind people. Ten images of dogs were selected from works of art of different genres, which were turned into three-dimensional copies.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, at the National Theater, Jakobson Ballet will have its second concert, and on both of their evenings, in honor of the centenary of the National Theater Ballet, the Belgrade ensemble will perform part of its latest premiere, the triptych "Infinitas", part of "Poem" to the music of Stanojlo Rajčić in choreography by Igor Kolarov.
On the penultimate day of the event, on Saturday, the National Theater will host a concert by Vasily Gerel, a famous Russian baritone who won prestigious world stages.
