Zavetniki is in the parliament for the first time since its creation in 2012. The Zavetnici movement was founded at the beginning of 2012 by a group of twenty people, who gathered at the barricades of the Serbian people in Kosovo, organized numerous rallies and protests, participated in humanitarian work, marked significant historical dates and "spread the nation-building and patriotic thought", it says in official history of this party, where it is also written: "The very name of the movement was chosen based on the historical experience in which the central point is occupied by the Kosovo vow, as a centuries-old the inspiration of numerous rulers, scientists, poets, writers, military leaders and the greatest Serbian minds."
In the official history from the website of this party, it is also stated that in the international field, the Covenanters are gaining friends both in the East and in the West. They are establishing cooperation with sovereignist parties throughout Europe, which respect "the most important Serbian state and national interests": "Representatives of the leadership of the movement participate in numerous meetings and diplomatic forums with officials of the Russian Federation in Moscow and Belgrade.
As a nationally responsible force, the Covenanters work to connect with all the most important political and social factors of the Serbian people in the Republic of Srpska, Montenegro, Macedonia and in the areas of the former Republika Srpska Krajina. In response to numerous political, economic and social challenges - the Covenanters adopt a comprehensive National and State Strategy, which becomes the program foundation of the organization."
Since its inception, the president of Zavetnik has been Stefan Stamenkovski, better known, however, as the husband of the most prominent person of this party - Milice Đurđević Stamenkovski. The recently deceased Rajko Đurđević, Miliča's father, publicist, writer and former deputy of the Serbian Radical Party of Vojislav Šešelj, also had an important advisory role in Zavetniki.
