Six activists Movement of free citizens i Student groups Attitude, who were arrested on the eve of the protest March 15 and then spent more than two months in prison, remain under house arrest, because their request for termination was rejected, portal 021 learns.
Lawyer Vladimir Horovic, whose office defends some of the Novi Sad activists, confirmed this information for 021 and announced the filing of an appeal against this decision.
"We believe that it is a first-instance decision that is completely unfounded. We will appeal about it to the Court of Appeal in Novi Sad," explains Horovic.
He claims that the explanation sent to the defenders is "completely illegal" and that such a decision is unacceptable.
In that explanation, it is written that the reasons for not releasing them are "circumstances in the Republic of Serbia", that is, that "there is a danger that they will join the protest again".
Lawyer Horovic explains that this explanation is a violation of the law and that "it is the right of every citizen to protest."
