The Assembly of Belgrade adopted a series of urban planning decisions, and citizens and members of private security clashed in front of the building

Private security hired by the government clashed with citizens who had gathered in front of the Belgrade Assembly, who were protesting the holding of the session. Belgrade Assembly where the councillors are authorities voted all the proposals without discussion, while the opposition hindered the work.

After the end of the session, strong police forces surrounded the building of the Assembly of Belgrade, and they detained four people and put them in the police station.

Four activists from the Initiative "The Bridge Remains" - Dejan Atanacković, Nebojša Petrović, Dušan Janković and Ilija Vučević - and member of the Association "Protect Blok 4" Srđan Marković were detained.

Activists will be held in custody for 48 hours, and they will be charged with the criminal offense of violent behavior at a public meeting, the Initiative "The Bridge Remains" announced.

The announcement states that they will be heard at the High Public Prosecutor's Office on Friday (March 7) at 11 a.m., which is why the Initiative calls on all citizens to gather in large numbers in front of the Prosecutor's Office on Savska Street on Friday as a sign of support.

"After four months of day and night fighting for the bridge, your support for our Dejan, Ilija, Nebojša, Dulet and Srđan means to us", they said from the Most Remains initiative.

Session Belgrade Assembly it started with metal fences surrounding the building and a large number of security personnel both outside the building and inside the building itself. When the session was supposed to officially start, the opposition councilors came out in front of the chairman's bench with Serbian flags and started continuously loudly broadcasting and singing the national anthem. At the same time, the councilors of the government were sitting in the benches, but they were not disturbed by the singing of the national anthem, so at the call of the chairman, they voted for the session's agenda by raising their hands.

Security measures have been increased at the entrance to the City Assembly, and a protest is being held in front of it at the invitation of the initiative "The Bridge Remains".

The citizens who gathered in front of the Belgrade Assembly tried to remove the fence in front of the building, and the security guards flew over the fence and a fight started.

It appears that someone sprayed the security guard with either pepper spray or tear gas.

The mayor is waiting to be arrested

Mila Popović, the president of the Belgrade committee of the Freedom and Justice Party and councilor Mila Popović, told "Vreme" that before the beginning of the session of the Belgrade Assembly, the SSP brought a "fake mayor's roundabout" in front of the building and stopped traffic in front of the Belgrade Assembly in order to send a message to the mayor Aleksandar Šapić that he should enter that roundabout, turn around, exit at exit 3 and never come back, i.e. to stop harassing the citizens of Belgrade and destroying the city.

"Aleksandar Šapić is not worthy to be mayor, we have all known that for a long time, and in the past few months we have seen that he has completely lost his mind, which is not surprising, because it is an open secret that he sleeps very badly and that every morning he expects to hear police sirens in front of his illegally built villa," says Popović.

"He himself does not know why they can take him away, especially after the arrest of the Stajić brothers and after the conviction of the head of his cabinet, Nenad Milanović."

VJT: Detain those who attacked security

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade ordered the police to identify the persons who attacked members of the security forces in front of the Belgrade Assembly today and to detain them for up to 48 hours on suspicion of violent behavior.

The Prosecutor's Office ordered the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office to take all the necessary actions and check whether there were any incidents in the Belgrade Assembly building, and if so, to identify the perpetrators in order to file criminal charges for crimes that are prosecuted ex officio.

The first basic public prosecutor's office in Belgrade was also ordered to take the necessary actions to identify all those who threw paint and eggs at the Belgrade Assembly building from the outside, so that requests for misdemeanor proceedings could be filed against them.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, is euphoric, with his hand outstretched

Overview of the week

Vučić, protector of injustice

Aleksandar Vučić is carrying out an unannounced coup d'état. It's for nothing. He has no defense against the demand for justice. Because how can he look into the eyes of a mother who is on hunger strike, calm the people on the streets and silence the schoolchildren who are shouting on the excursion - "Pump!"
