The architectural bureau "Danilo Dangubic Architects" and two other firms will receive 4,4 million euros for the work of creating a comprehensive master plan for the EXPO 2027 specialized exhibition, as well as its integration into a spatial entity consisting of the National Stadium, EXPO parking lots and accompanying roads, and the EXPO complex itself
The architectural bureau "Danilo Dangubic Architects" was awarded the job of chief architect for the EXPO 2027 exhibition, for a period of three years. Together with him, the companies "Studio for New Media Gallery 12" and "Ernst & Young Consulting" won the contract for the job of creating a comprehensive master plan for a specialized exhibition, as well as its integration into a spatial unit. says "New Economy".
The public call for this tender was published on August 22, and the total value of the work is 434,12 million dinars (about 3,7 million euros) without VAT, i.e. almost 521 million dinars with VAT (close to 4,4 million euros ).
The architectural bureau and two firms for that amount are also obliged to harmonize the Dossier for recognition with the EXPO master plan, the project of the fair in accordance with the master plan, but also to prepare documentation for the needs of international participants.
The tender documentation states that the spatial scope of the Master Plan includes the EXPO complex (810.000 square meters), which includes the fair itself (330.000 square meters) and participant pavilions (about 100.000 square meters).
EXPO zone
When creating the master plan, the selected companies should take care of the technological and functional compatibility of the master plan with the wider EXPO zone, writes "Nova ekonomika".
The whole consists of the National Stadium, EXPO parking lots and accompanying roads (railway station, station for electric transport vehicles, bus stops, wharf and internal transport lines) and the EXPO complex itself, which includes the EXPO Village and the EXPO location.
Danilo Dangubić Architects
"Danilo Dangubić Architects" is a Belgrade architectural firm founded in 2017 by architect Danilo Dangubić.
Last year, this bureau had four employees and made a net profit of around 24.500 euros, out of a little more than 181.000 euros in total income.
Conceptual solutions for several architectural buildings can be seen on the website of this bureau, and from the interview Dangubić gave earlier, it can be concluded that at least two buildings designed by the bureau were built in Pančevo.
Serbian architect Danilo Dangubić received an invitation to participate with his architectural studio at the Architecture Biennale in Seoul in 2021. His project "Self-Sustaining City" was chosen to represent Serbia in Korea.
The portal Pink.rs wrote that his project was supported by the cabinet of the chief urban planner of the City of Belgrade, Marko Stojčić, among the huge number of submitted works.
He sees nothing wrong with progressive urbanism in Belgrade
In an interview for "Danas", Dangubić was then asked about the urban chaos in Belgrade and the disfigurement of the historical core of the city through the unplanned and bad renovation of urban units, such as Republic Square or the installation of a monument to Stefan Nemanja in front of the former Railway Station building, he said:
"I have a problem with the wording urban chaos. Because urban chaos arises where there is no urbanism as a form of plan. Belgrade has chaos urbanism in the most positive sense. In 100 years, it had four demolitions, four reconstructions and three scarce periods of urban healing. Urbanism in Belgrade is in a certain way a counterweight to the destruction that was affecting the city. Urbanism is too slow a category to be detected at the time of its creation. An urban project takes decades to develop and you can see its advantages and disadvantages. The two projects you mention do not fall into the category of urbanism, but rather reconstructions of ground floor arrangements and can only be viewed from that aspect. Those two spatial entities did not change their purpose, but only their material design. Namely, asphalt and concrete slabs were replaced with natural stone, which I believe is a better material for that purpose. For some other reasons, these projects have been reduced to daily political topics, but I am reluctant to see their architectural and urban capacity as well as my profession in that context".
Studio for new media Gallery 12
"New Media Studio Gallery 12" is known for having already received two jobs for the EXPO exhibition, writes "Nova ekonomija". This company will be in charge of conceptual design, elaboration and production of content and thematic pavilions "The Power of Game" and those named "Game(s) for Progress".
Also, this company is part of a consortium that won a job for the provision of marketing services worth 15,4 million euros, which it will share with the companies "McCann", "Drive" and "Two rivers", writes "Nova ekonomika".
According to the data of the new final account for the year 2023, the company "Studio for new media Gallery 12" made a profit of 550.000 dinars (about 4.700 euros).
Total business revenues in 2023 reached around 690.000 euros, and the company has ten employees.
"New Media Studio Galerija 12" was founded in September 2014, and in its ten years of existence, it has achieved total revenues of around 4,94 million euros.
Before the EXPO, in 2022, the company also received tasks related to the event and the Foundation Novi Sad - European Capital of Culture.
Ernst & Young Consulting
"Ernst & Young Consulting" is a company that provides auditing and consulting services to clients.
It was founded in 2022, as a subsidiary of the regional office of the global multinational corporation EY.
In the last two years, the company has been receiving work for the Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (RATEL).
