The Serbian Progressive Party was the first to recognize that pensioners make up a third of the electorate in Serbia. Several elections ago, the president of the Republic and until recently of this party has been handing them one-time aid, a raise, gift packages from the state budget, with the obligatory accompanying speech that retired life in Serbia is beautiful - as if from last year to this year, pensions have not decreased by 10 to 15 percent.
The opposition parties saw the number of pensioners only before these elections.
Dragan Đilas, president of the Freedom and Justice Party (SSP) and parliamentary candidate of the "Serbia Against Violence" list announced a month ago that the new government that will be formed by the "Serbia Against Violence" list will return all the money belonging to the government of the Serbian Progressive Party and Aleksandar Vučić stole from pensioners in 2014, as well as that stolen pensions will be returned to the heirs of deceased pensioners.
Yesterday in Vranje, as reported by the SSP, Đilas, after talking with the representatives of all the parties that make up the "Serbia against violence" coalition at the parliamentary level, said that he places special emphasis on the 800.000 pensioners who, as he stated, were damaged, and that " to them or their heirs, if they unfortunately passed away, the money that the state took from them should be returned".
"This government decided to cut people's pensions at one point. A pension is something that belongs to people and cannot be taken away. 700 million euros were taken from pensioners, I am asking a public question, if we have five billion, why don't we return 700 million to pensioners," said Đilas.
He said that he "guarantees that the pensions will be returned".
A few days ago, Zoran Lutovac, the president of the Democratic Party, confirmed for N1 the Democrats' proposal that the returned money goes to the families of deceased pensioners, of which there are 200.000. He also said that one million pensioners receive less than 30.000 dinars and that the Democrats propose the introduction of social pensions for the most vulnerable.
Recently, the return of pensions was announced by the president of the Movement of Free Citizens (PSG) and parliamentary candidate of the "Serbia Against Violence" list, Pavle Grbović.
Dragan Đilas claims that the state has money, "but it is spent on senseless projects, plus most of it disappears due to corruption."
"Corruption in the state sector is measured in billions of euros. There is almost no government job for which government representatives do not take 60-80 percent of the total value. We will cut corruption and provide enough money in the budget for pensions and salary increases in all areas," he said.
Siniša Mali, the Minister of Finance in the Technical Government, immediately denied all this on the social network.
