On Tuesday, June 24, another meeting of rectors of the seven state universities is taking place university which are also blocked by the Prime Minister of Serbia Djura Macuta.
On the table will be topics about the current situation at universities and the way to bring the academic year to an end, reports RTS.
Vladan Djokic and Đuro Matsut have met several times so far. Last time on June 9th and Rector Đokić then assessed that that meeting was the most constructive so far, as well as that the Prime Minister understood their demands.
Đokić stated that the requests in question concern "material costs that have not been paid to the faculties since the end of April", as well as "requests regarding the dissolution of the working group for the drafting of the new Law on Higher Education".
He added that he "expects that in the coming period they will have constructive solutions on the basis of which they will be able to solve things."
In the joint announcement of the Government and the University of Belgrade, it was stated that on June 9, the Prime Minister Đuro Macut and the Rector of the University of Belgrade Vladan Đokić reached an agreement on the upcoming activities to preserve UB and ensure financial conditions.
