Eight months after journalists from the Center for Investigative Journalism of Serbia (CINS) discovered that the minister Milica Djurdjevic Stamenkovski she did not graduate from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, as written in her official biography, this claim was finally removed from the website of the Government of Serbia.
However, the new data on the education of the newly minted minister for labor, employment, veterans and social affairs are unclear and leave room for different interpretations.
Thus, instead of the previous statement that Đurđević Stamenkovski at the Faculty of Political Sciences, she "earned the title of graduate political scientist", now the minister's official biography states the following:
"After studying at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade and the Institute for Diaspora and Integration in Moscow, founded by MV Lomonosov University, she earned the title of graduate political scientist."
"Vreme" sent to the cabinet of Minister Đurđević Stamenkovski with a question about her official biography, but the answer did not reach the publication of this text.
By the way, the official website of Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski, better known as Milica Zavetnica, still states that she graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences.
CINS: Đurđević Stamenkovski did not complete FPN
The information that Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski did not complete the FPN, as she claimed for years, became public knowledge in August 2024, when CINS journalists published it.
This information, in accordance with the Law on Access to Information of Public Importance, was confirmed to the editorial office of CINS in the answer of the Faculty of Political Sciences signed by the then Dean Dragan Simić.
In the response of the faculty, it is stated that Đurđević Stamenkovski enrolled in basic academic studies at the FPN in the academic year 2009/2010. year. She did not finish them, and she lost her student status ten years later, in December 2020. In addition, during her studies at FPN, she obtained 207 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), the faculty stated.
CINS then confronted Đurđević Stamenkovski with these allegations, and she told reporters that she only received her diploma in 2024 at the Russian Institute for Diaspora and Integration. She did not provide proof of this because, according to her, she submitted the documentation for enrollment in master's studies at the Russian State Social University.
260 hours of course
According to information from their website, the Institute for Diaspora and Integration was founded in 1996, and received a license to provide additional education for children and adults, as well as additional professional education, in 2019 from the Moscow Department of Education. The founders of the Institute include, among others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the joint-stock company Sputnik, institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
According to data from its official website, the Institute also offers courses in political science, which last from 36 to 72 hours.
In response to CINS, the Institute for Diaspora and Integration said that "Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski received training from 2020 to 2024 at the Institute of CIS States (Institute for Diaspora and Integration), majoring in political science."
The institute also stated in its response that the program lasted "260 academic hours".
However, the Institute did not answer CINS journalists' questions about whether the diploma obtained in this way is equivalent to the diploma of basic academic studies, as well as whether they recognized the exams she passed at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.
