General Secretariat Interpol rejected the request of Bosnia and Herzegovina to issue an international warrant for Milorad Dodik i Nenad Stevandic, it was confirmed for the Klix portal.
In addition, this information was confirmed by Dodik via social networks.
"Thanks to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, for his support and clear and principled communication with Interpol," wrote Dodik.
"Thank you to the Prime Minister of Hungary, Vikotor Orbán, as well as the presidents of all other countries that sent a complaint, understanding the political background of the judicial persecution to which I am exposed," said Dodik.
As Interpol explained, the request was rejected on the basis of Article 3 of the Interpol statute, which refers to the prohibition of political persecution.
Serbia was the first to file an objection to Interpol on this request, followed by Hungary.
On March 27, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina asked Interpol to issue an international warrant for Dodik because he left the country and traveled to Serbia, then Israel and Russia, while an internal warrant and an arrest warrant were issued in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Because of Stevandić, a request was sent to Interpol because he traveled to Serbia also when an internal warrant was issued for him.
