"Dear Nišlije, I invite you to support the establishment of a new Movement for the People and the State, 12. April on Saturday, in front of the House of the National Assembly in Belgrade, let's go united, together, Serbian. When Serbia calls, Niš does not remain silent".
This is how the mayor of Niš, Dragoslav Pavlović, addressed the citizens on his official Instagram profile, identifying Serbia with the ruling party.
Similar calls were made by the presidents of the municipalities of Bela Palanka and Babušnica.
On the official profile of the Municipality of Bela Palanka on Facebook, one of the statuses is the invitation of the President of the Municipality, Goran Miljković, to the citizens for a meeting in Belgrade. Assistance is offered with the organization of the departure, Juzne Vesti reports.
"I invite you to on Saturday, April 12th in Belgrade, let's support the stability and further development of our Serbia in a democratic and peaceful way! For the future of our country! Those interested in going to Belgrade can contact the phone number 018/856666from 07.00:15.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.," said Miljković in his invitation.
A similar invitation is also sent by the President of the Municipality of Babušnica Ivana Stojčić on the official profile of the Municipality on Facebook.
"The president of the municipality of Babušnica, Ivana Stojičić, invites all citizens who are in favor of Serbia continuing to grow and develop, for children to continue to grow normally and to be educated, all those who respect the law and the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, to join and be part of this historic event. Your support and participation are important for the future of our country," the invitation states.
According to some citizens, they also received this notification via SMS.
Lawsuit for misuse of public resources
The citizens of Babušnica gathered in the assembly say that they are already working with the legal team on lawsuits, because, as they point out, at least 3 laws were violated in this and similar announcements.
Nemanja Nenadić from "Transparency of Serbia" in an interview with Južne vesti says that this is just another form of misuse of public resources.
"As natural persons, they can promote a rally, but there is no legal basis for doing so in the capacity of the president of the municipality, whether it is a party rally or a rally organized by an association, because it is not a rally organized by their local self-government," said Nenadić.
Never greater pressures on employees in public companies
As the gathering of the "Movement for the People and the State" is approaching, the pressure on employees, primarily in state-owned enterprises, to attend it is increasing.
This was confirmed for "Vreme" by a Niš waterworks worker, who claims that there was pressure before the meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party, but "never to this extent".
"Earlier, they asked us if we could and wanted to leave, now they just say that we have to be in Belgrade. They also directly mentioned dismissal to me," she said.
The editorial office of the newspaper "Nova" has received an audio recording from a meeting of the employees of a department of Poštanska Štedionica, where Nataša Marković, a member of the Executive Board of that bank, keeps telling the employees why they should come to Vučić's meeting. 12. April, why they should not refuse the invitation and that they should look at the story about going to the meeting as something "normal, because they eat bread from the state coffers".
At the same time, stories are reaching the public about the famous meeting quotas and pressures on employees in public companies, which allegedly have never been greater, because the goal is to overshadow the protest organized by students on March 15 in Belgrade.
On this occasion, the Kreni-promeni movement invited all employees in the public sector, who are under pressure to attend the meeting of the Serbian Progressive Party against their will, scheduled for 12. april in Belgrade, to report such cases anonymously via a special email addresses:reported@go-promeni.org.
According to the information obtained by the movement, in the last few days the pressures on employees in communal and state enterprises, republican institutions, social protection institutions, health and cultural institutions, as well as local self-governments throughout Serbia have intensified. Many of them, as stated, are being directly pressured, blackmailed, and even threatened with dismissal, transfer or withholding of daily wages, in order to agree to participate in the rally organized by SNS.
The movement warns that this kind of behavior is a criminal act.
"Abuse of official position is an offense for which the Criminal Code of the Republic of Serbia, Article 359, prescribes a prison sentence of six months to five years," the statement said.
