The "Serbia Against Violence" list calls for a new protest against the alleged election theft, on Tuesday, January 16, on the anniversary murder of Oliver Ivanovic.
Our sources say that it should be a protest jointly called with the ProGlas initiative and some non-governmental organizations, but the details have not yet been clarified.
The co-president of the Green-Left Front, Biljana Đorđević, tells "Vreme" that the European Parliament is expected to hold a session next week, where the elections in Serbia will be the topic.
"We promised the citizens that the protests will continue. At the same time, we want to send a protest message to the European Parliament that the citizens of Serbia do not give up on their demands", says Đorđević.
Apart from the date of Ivanovic's murder, Đorđević says that he will also remember the referendum on judicial reform that took place on January 16, when Serbia "did not get an independent judiciary".
"We can see that from the fact that the Prosecutor's Office did not respond to the numerous evidence of election theft," said Đorđević.
An attempt at internationalization
Representatives of the opposition have written several letters to European officials these days, asking them to pay attention to the situation in Serbia and support the request to cancel the elections.
According to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, the government is writing an "elaborate" on the interference of an "important country" in the elections and announcing the constitutive session of the Assembly for February.
At the last protest at the end of December, which was also called by ProGlas, more than 17.000 people gathered, which counts as large protests, the Archive of Public Meetings reported at the time.
