Media close to the authorities launched a smear campaign against the student leaders, accusing them of receiving money to subvert the state. It was initiated by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić

Student protests and faculty blockades spread to Belgrade, Novi Sad, Niš and Kragujevac. Believing that the student revolt will take off on its own, since the student parliaments are mostly under the control of the Serbian Progressive Party, the government did not react at first.

But as colleges began to "they fall"One after another, the pro-regime media were let off the hook and started a harsh campaign of slandering students and professors who publicly express their dissatisfaction and demand that all those responsible for the tragedy in Novi Sad and those who attacked the students be brought to justice, as well as that the arrested people be released from custody. at the protests.

The beginning of the spat was played by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, accusing the leaders of the student blockades of receiving money "from outside and inside" for the overthrow of the government.

RTS's shameful comment

Vučić stated that students who organize protests should stop "fighting" among themselves over the money they receive "a little from the outside, a little from the inside", and this comment was broadcast in prime time in Dnevnik 2 on the Public Service and on Pink TV.

In this address to the students, Vučić referred to the "video" that, as they say on RTS, is circulating on social networks, and on which it can be seen that a guy and a girl are arguing about something. When asked by TV N1 to the editorial staff of RTS if they have proof that they are arguing about the money they receive to destroy Serbia, the Public Service did not answer.

This is how we came to the situation where the students blocking almost 30 faculties across Serbia were mentioned in the 32nd minute of Dnevnik 2 of RTS through a comment by the President of the Republic who called the organizers of the protest mercenaries.

Let it be remembered that the editors of tonight's daily, who called the students mercenaries, were: Dušan Ubović and Bojana Mlađenović pic.twitter.com/LApFNkcSqG

"I call those girls and boys, who are fighting over those money for my demolition." What they give them, a little from the outside, a little from the inside, in order to tear me down. Don't fight about it, kids. Come and work for your country, we will ensure that you earn more money, in an honest way, and help your country," said Vučić.

After that, the participant in the disputed video, student Mila Pajić, also spoke.

"What happened was that a guy and a girl had a fight, and the president of a very serious country in the Balkans is dealing with the couple's fight." Now the main problem is that they are trying to delegitimize the student protests, which are spreading at an abnormal speed, with very clear demands, and it is clear to me that they will use all possible means to seek the most repressive measures in order to quell the rebellion that has finally emerged among the students," she explained. is Pajic.

"News": "Djilas youth" are fighting over the division of the spoils

The "Večernje novosti" portal joined this campaign with a text calling the rebel students "Đilas youth" who "work according to the directives" of the president of the People's Movement of Serbia, Miroslav Aleksić, and the Green-Left Front. The news also claims that the heated argument between the two young people arose "over the distribution of money."

The Seselje trail is bursting, bursting

"According to 'Đilas' youths', who were eyewitnesses of this scandalous event, the scenes of violence were preceded by a bitter dispute over the distribution of the money that the organization 'Borba' received from Aleksić. Considering that the activists of "Borba" did not successfully implement the task entrusted to them, i.e. that they failed to initiate mass student protests by blocking higher education institutions, foreign "donors" denied Aleksić a certain part of the money, so that his "students" also received a much smaller amount for their engagement than what was promised to them," Večernje novosti assesses.

The accusations do not end there. "Novosti" also states that "Pajić, who was clearly under the influence of narcotics, failed to convince Branislav Đorđević and Jovana Jovanović in a heated argument that they should be "overjoyed with the money they received", so she then "physically attacked on them, and that by first starting to strangle Jovanović, after which she slapped Đorđević".

"Informer": Pavle Cicvarić is a sectarian, and he also has a fetish

The leading media outlet of Aleksandar Vučić's regime, "Informer", targeted the student Pavlo Cicvarić, calling him "Đilas's eternal student" who is "the most active manipulator and spokesperson at blockades and protests of the anti-Serbian opposition."

That was not enough, so the tabloid, which gained fame by glorifying the regime of Aleksandar Vučić, "discovered" that "Pavle Cicvarić has a very bizarre fetish - he dresses like a woman, puts on makeup and films his hands and feet tied, with dolls scattered around him."

"Pavle Cicvarić from the organization 'Borba' has spoken several times at opposition protests in Belgrade, which have turned into debacle who knows how many times." On that occasion, Cicvarić announced new chaos, but also confirmed that their only goal is to overthrow Vučić! And then let his bosses take over the state and he, who can't decide whether he is male or female," assesses "Informer".

In order to prove their claim, a video was broadcast on the portal of this tabloid in which it is more than obvious that Cicvarić is an extra in the video clip in which he is dressed in a skirt and wearing make-up. However, this did not bother the analytical employee of the "Informer" portal to notice that this is a "bizarre video with sectarian motives, in which Cicvarić, dressed in make-up, dressed in a dress and tied up, shows and proves who is carrying out violence against citizens"(!?)

"Hello": The opposition finances student blockades

The tabloid "Alo" "discovered" the connection between the opposition and the protesting students in Kragujevac, although, as it was presented to the readers, they tried to hide the connection in the beginning with the aim of overthrowing the beloved president.

"Although they initially tried to hide their support - including of a financial nature - for the 'student' blockades, through which a group of activists posing as students these days are trying to completely block the work of universities across the country, the opposition parties seem to have decided to take off their masks and openly support these gatherings," the text of this tabloid reads.

It is added that the latest example of this "discovery" of "Alo" is the case of Saša Vasiljević, an opposition councilor in the Kragujevac City Assembly in front of the "Srbija Centar" (SRCE) party, Zdravko Ponoš, who "in the evening, visited the students blocking the Rectorate University in Kragujevac".

"And although it is more than clear, and also expected, that the opposition parties, including Vasiljević's mother party, as well as the opposition-friendly media, will try to present such and similar moves exclusively as a gesture of solidarity with legitimate 'student' demands, it is difficult, having in view of everything we know about the connection between opposition structures and current blockades, we should not think that the most important thing is to convey certain instructions to the organizers of the blockades for further political action", commented "Alo".

Serbia as a pressure cooker

And while tabloid attacks on students and other citizens who rebelled continue for a long time, the general impression is that it is For more than a month, Serbia has been like a pressure cooker that threatens to explode at any moment.

Just someone else to take out the inlet

We have witnessed that violence is by far the most represented ingredient in the Serbian pressure cooker. Tramples, beatings, hooded men, arrests of plainclothes policemen, sending anti-terrorist units to bare-handed citizens on the Sava Bridge - and then the comment of the President of the Republic that MP Savo Manojlović "squeaked like a pig" while he was being arrested - targeting students as foreign mercenaries, according to the well-tried recipe of Slobodan Milošević and Mira Marković. There is the physical accounting of deputies first in the national and then in the provincial parliament.

For days, the state-party-media machinery accuses the treacherous opposition and overpaid or misled citizens of violence, calling them "extremists" and "thugs".

It remains only to see how much steam is left in our pressure cooker.

Overview of the week

Vučić, the one-man orchestra

Vučić is not defending the state, but himself from the state. With a drum on his back and a guitar in his hands, this man-orchestra performs two or three of the same songs without hearing, with falsifications and falling out of rhythm. His government and politics are like that. In short - dangerous for the environment

Progressive arrests and purges: Self-defense or nothing

Arrests of professors, punishment of people, firing of journalists... The regime of Aleksandar Vučić is shining and is yet to shine. It is the decadent phase of the regime, the one towards the end

The regime is denying the truth that it happened

The example of the elections in Zaječar and Kosjerić shows that the truth is not given, but assumed. Truth is a task that a citizen fulfills. She always wins
