Not even after postponed session of the Assembly of Belgrade and after the consultations held in the Serbian Parliament by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, and representatives of the "We - Voice of the People" movement, it is unclear whether the government will be formed in Belgrade, as well as what the majority in the Serbian Parliament will look like.
The question arises whether the SNS has the required majority of deputies or will the elections in the capital be repeated?
While MP Branimir Nestorović claims that the attitude regarding participation in the government in the capital will not change, Šapić assessed that this movement "disintegrated" and that "things have changed".
Citizens will have to wait two more days to find out if SNS has a majority, and President Vučić announces who knows what order to address the public.
By the way, in the past 12 years, Vučić, as a rule, "formed the government in parallel in the Parliament of Serbia and in the Assembly of Belgrade."
The SNS candidate for the mayor of Belgrade announced the postponement of the session again, and in his address he referred to Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.
"Some people who decide in our country have come to a situation where they have to reconsider their views on whether Nestorović is the only legitimate one, when they don't consider him legitimate either. "You heard that Prime Minister Ana Brnabić said that today's majority should be created, which we said then that we have, first of all with Jerković and another member of his movement," he said.
He added that his position has not changed, that if they accepted the position that Nestorovic is the only legitimate one, they should stick with it.
Nestorović: We will not change our position on participation in the government in Belgrade even until March 3
"We - the voice of the people" MP Branimir Nestorović said that he and his colleagues will not change their position regarding participation in the city government even until March 3, when the constituent session of the Belgrade City Assembly will be held, which was postponed today, RTS reported .
He added that they stand by that position for principled reasons and that it is not a matter of speculating.
"It's not about us speculating, so we don't like the figures and I don't know what was offered to us and we're increasing the price, but we will not participate as a matter of principle," said Nestorović.
When asked why he was not with President Vučić this morning for consultations on the government, he said that it was their delegation and that they respected the institution of the president.
"We had other things to do, we respected the institution of the president." Three of our representatives left," Nestorović said.
MPs Aleksandar Pavić, Bogdana Koljević Keller and Branko Lukić attended the meeting with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić this morning, while Nestorović did not appear.
Without Nestorović at consultations with Vučić
Prior to that, consultations on the mandate for the composition of the new government continued in Andrićev venc. President Aleksandar Vučić spoke with representatives of the election list "We - Voice of the People".
Aleksandar Pavić, a member of the "We - Voice of the People" list, arrived for the talks, and when asked why Branimir Nestorović did not come, he said that he would go to the attempted Constitutive Session of the Belgrade City Assembly.
After consulting with the president, Pavić told the journalist that the meeting was formal.
"We respected the formal invitation of the president of the state, we made it known what we have been saying all along, that we are the opposition of the government and not the state," Pavić said.
He repeated that they responded formally to the consultations, informed the president that they did not have a majority, as well as that they would propose a representative and that they would definitely be in the positions they held before.
When asked if he would support the constitution of the assembly, Pavić told reporters that he would not and that their position remains the same.
"We will not support the majority and we advocate calling for new elections in Breograd," Pavić said.
The "Mi glas iz narod" list won 13 mandates in the December elections, but in the meantime there was a split in that movement.
Pavlović: During the weekend, the decision on new elections will be announced
Candidate for city councilor of the "Serbia against violence" list and vice-president of the National Movement of Serbia (NPS) Miloš Pavlović announced before the start of Šapić's address that the Belgrade City Assembly will not be formed today and that the decision to repeat the elections will be announced during the weekend.
Pavlović told the Nova daily that the deadline for constituting the city assembly is March 2, not March 3, as the representatives of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) say.
He is repeated that SNS has no legitimacy and added that the pressure of the international community, the EP resolution and the ODIHR report influenced the ruling party and the decision on the Belgrade elections.
What will Vučić announce in his latest address?
Meanwhile, the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced an extraordinary address tomorrow at 10 a.m. from the building of the General Secretariat of the President of the Republic, the Presidency announced.
Let us recall that the announcement of Vučić's address followed the postponement of today's session of the Belgrade City Assembly, where the majority was supposed to be constituted. In the previous period, both from the regime media and from President Vučić himself, we could hear how "progressives are putting pressure" to form a majority in the capital of Serbia.
On Wednesday, during his stay in Tirana, he said that "his bosses in the party pushed to form the government".
