Thirty-seven people was detained in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia on the night between Sunday and Monday, announced Ministry of Interior.
Two hours after midnight, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had identified and brought to the official premises 37 persons who participated in disrupting public order and peace and causing incidents during an unannounced public gathering the previous evening in front of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.
"The police are working intensively to identify and find other participants whose actions threatened the safety of citizens and public property. The police will continue to consistently apply all legal measures in order to preserve public order, peace and the safety of all citizens," the statement said.
Vladimir Štimac also arrested
Former basketball player Vladimir Štimac is among those arrested, reports N1.
As can be seen in the videos on social networks, Štimac was arrested in front of the RTS building.
He previously spent the whole day in front of the Assembly and called for support Diana Hrki, to the mother of Stefan Hrka, a young man who died in the fall of the canopy of the Novi Sad Railway Station on November 1, 2024.
