"The police in Belgrade carried out a synchronized action with the one in Novi Sad. On Wednesday morning, police officers equipped to break up demonstrations moved a dozen of us activists on the Old Bridge and introduced machines that began to remove the asphalt," an activist of the "The Bridge Remains" initiative told "Vreme". Barricades have been placed on the water side of the bridge near Belgrade, and the road to the bridge on Novobeograska is clear so that machines for removing asphalt and rails can approach.
"As a reaction, we blocked the entrance to Belgrade on the water and we invite citizens, deputies and councilors to join us in blocking the Branko bridge at 12 o'clock on Wednesday, near the building of the Agency for Economic Registers, because the crazy construction and demolition of Belgrade must stop" , stated Miketić.
He said that the police did not act harshly at first, but that followed by pushing and twisting the hands of the activists and threats of arrest.
