Activist of the initiative "The Bridge Remains" and "United Initiatives and Movements" Đorđe Miketić requested the Secretariat for Traffic of the City of Belgrade to "immediately provide the public with a study, that is, evidence of traffic safety testing on The old Sava bridge, because they officially announced that the bridge is not safe for traffic".
In the announcement, he added that if such an expert study exists, the authorities should immediately close the bridge for all traffic, not only for civil and public transport, but also for trucks and mixers that serve the construction sites of Belgrade on the water.
He reminded that a new, as yet undiscovered sign was placed on the bridge that prohibits traffic only to citizens, while allowing the passage of machines from the construction site.
"Also, according to Article 3 of the Decision on the regime of freight traffic through the city of Belgrade, it is prohibited to cross the Old Sava bridge for all vehicles whose mass exceeds 3,5 tons. (Official Gazette of the City of Belgrade No. 67/2012, 62/2014, 6/2018)", stated Miketić in the announcement.
He emphasized that the initiative "The Bridge Remains" filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office for organized crime against several responsible persons in the city administration, including the Secretary of Transportation Bojan Bovan, for dereliction of duty, deliberate neglect and neglect of the bridge in order to obtain property benefits for another person. in this case to PowerChina IGL".
Miketić specifies that in the report, an expert report on the state of the bridge was requested due to the endangerment of general safety and systemic neglect of the bridge.
"Because of the concern for the safety of citizens, from the beginning of our struggle we insist that all documents related to the Old Sava Bridge be made available to the public: the decision on the removal of the bridge, the feasibility study for replacing the bridge, the traffic relocation study, the new bridge project and now the safety study traffic," said Miketić in the announcement.
He emphasized that the non-transparent construction must stop immediately and that all documents must be made available to the public immediately, as required by law.
