Employees at the Belgrade Faculty of Medicine are starting from Monday strike which refers to the suspension of educational and scientific research activities.
It will not be threatened by the strike healthcare activity, and as stated on the Faculty's website, such a decision was made at a meeting held on March 12.
Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, Petar Bulat, stated that the Teaching Council of the Faculty supported the decision to continue the strike until the students' demands are met.
He also points out that today's March 17, which the government representatives mentioned as D-day for the survival of the academic year, is not that and that everything can be compensated.
"Teachers are incredibly devoted to students and whenever a decision is made to continue classes, we will do everything to ensure that students get as much as possible in as little time as possible and that the system returns to normal as soon as possible," said Bulat.
He adds that everything can be compensated, with the postponement of the next school year if necessary, so that no one loses.
He admits that he had doubts about some of the students' decisions, but that he was denied each time.
"If you asked me, I thought that most of the students' decisions were wrong, and in the end they convinced me that each one was better than the last one." "These young people surprised us all with the quality of their decisions," said Bulat.
