Students in the blockade of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad announced that the arrested dean of that faculty was placed under house arrest
The day after the dean was taken into custody Snežana Brkić of the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, students in lockdown te higher education institutions they announced that she was placed under house arrest.
"Due to the proceedings being conducted against the dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Novi Sad, Prof. Dr. Snežana Brkić, we inform the public that the court has made a decision to determine the measure of house arrest," wrote the students in the blockade on the X social network.
As they state, when making this decision, the court also took into account the state of health of Prof. Dr. Brkić, along with other relevant circumstances, and not exclusively the argumentation that referred to the establishment of the so-called "order".
"We believe that this approach is an example of a thoughtful consideration of the wider context and relevant facts, and we believe that this practice will contribute to the strengthening of legal certainty and objectivity in decision-making and in other procedures," state the students in the blockade.
Snezana Brkić was arrested due to suspicions that she increased the salaries of professors outside the rules, tabloids reported earlier.
