The criminal complaint followed the ignoring of the call to the institutions to declare who and why cut the forest in Košutnjak
On Friday, Nemanja Plavšić from the "Košutnjak remains" initiative filed a criminal complaint against an unknown person for illegal logging. forests in Pioneer Park in Kosutnjak, that initiative announced.
Plavšić said that two crimes were committed, devastation of forests according to Article 274 of the Criminal Code, as well as forest theft, according to Article 275, and that he submitted photos of the devastated area along with the criminal complaint.
According to him, the criminal complaint followed the ignoring of the call to the institutions to declare who and why cut the forest in Košutnjak.
"The residents of Banovo brdo found a few weeks ago the mass cutting of healthy trees in Košutnjak. The city green department told us that they did not participate in the cutting and that they were not informed. At that time, we sent a call to the institutions to investigate who was illegally cutting in Košutnjak, but until today we have not received an answer. That is why we are filing a criminal complaint and demand from the authorities that the perpetrators of this act be discovered," said Plavšić.
He warned that this plot, which is now bare, is located directly below the sports and recreation center, "which raises reasonable suspicions that it is about possible preparations for the construction of some facility."
He added that the citizens of this part of the city deserve to know who is behind this logging and in whose name it is being carried out.
"Whatever they have in mind, let them know that they will not succeed, because Košutnjak is staying," said Plavšić.
"You can't live without Vučić. Because, as with similar regimes, the fall from power or the loss of office can mean prison if there is a trial for corruption or other criminal acts," political scientist Vedran Džihić told Frankfurter Rundschau.
