Jelena Tanasković, the director of "Railway Infrastructure", who was arrested two weeks ago due to the fall of the canopy of the station in Novi Sad when 15 people died, was not previously accused of financial malfeasance committed in the private company "Prvi Faktor" which she led as a director. reveals the SCREAM.
The criminal complaint, which was filed against her by her former company, ended up in the Police Service for Combating Organized Crime (SBPOK), headed by Ninoslav Cmolić - the husband of Minister Irene Vujović, who is a friend and former boss of Jelena Tanasković. Thus, the police did not check all the allegations of the criminal complaint, did not even interrogate Tanasković, and yet informed the Prosecutor's Office that no crime had been committed, documents obtained by KRIK reveal.
This company, which was engaged in factoring, i.e. buying and collecting debts, claimed that Tanasković had damaged it for around two million euros. She did it, according to the allegations in the criminal complaint, by inventing the debts of 43 companies together with her associates and then decided that "Prvi Factor" would buy them - even though she knew they didn't exist and couldn't be collected, KRIK writes.
Tanasković is now facing criminal proceedings for the tragedy in Novi Sad. The higher prosecutor's office in Novi Sad identified her as one of the persons responsible for this event, as she was the director of the state company "Infrastructure of Railways of Serbia", which before the fall of the canopy was responsible for the reconstruction of the railway station building. She is currently under house arrest.
