The Judicial Chamber in Užice ruled that the elections held on June 8 should be repeated in one polling station in Kosjerić. This could call into question the victory of SNS in this municipality because the difference was only 51 votes
The Judicial Chamber in Užice, by overvoting 2:1, decided to repeat the elections at the polling station (25) "Elan" in To Kosjerić, unofficially learns the Voice of Western Serbia (GZS).
Opposition won convincingly at that polling station with 220 votes, while the Serbian Progressive Party won the votes of 125 voters.
The opposition, which in total lost the elections in Kosjerić by only 51 votes, filed a complaint at the "Elan" polling station, among other things, because one of the voters voted there even though his name was not on the voter list. According to the GZS, that voter is related to the holder of the opposition list, Dragana Perišić.
The Electoral Board allegedly still allowed him to vote because the mentioned voter had previously voted at that place, but after the changes in the names of the streets in the voter list, he was moved to the neighboring polling station.
After narrowly losing the elections in Kosjerić, the opposition filed a complaint about the irregularity of the election, and the Municipal Election Commission rejected the complaint. The court in Uzice, however, overvoted 2:1 and decided to re-fight.
Before the elections on June 8, all possible state officials of the SNS, led by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, rushed to Kosjerić. Asphalting was being done hurriedly along and across, gifts were handed out on the condition that one voted for the progressives, well-known teams in expensive cars or black jeeps without license plates, special police units, were also present at all local elections. A state of siege reigned in this small place.
In such an atmosphere, according to the results of the Republic Election Commission, with a record turnout, the newspaper "Ne damo Serbia Aleksandar Vučić" won 3.686 votes (49,23 percent), or 14 mandates. The opposition list "United for Kosjerić" came second with 51 votes less, i.e. 3.635 votes or 48 percent, which is 54 mandates.
