Distribution of packets for children in the municipality New Belgrade for some families it is a traditional action. They meet up, go out together, many take pictures, and for years past, those New Year's toys can be seen in the parks of New Belgrade. One year, the ball with the Serbian flag, which was distributed to children by the municipality, was rolled in terrines.
That's why numerous families went to get the packages, regardless of the political division in society. However, this year many of them were very disappointed with what the municipality put in the bag. In addition to the fact that the children received significantly less sweets than last year, only a few small packages - plasma, kinder eggs, gummy candies and the smallest figs, and two towels were also found in the package.
They are branded with a sticker of the municipality of Novi Beograd, so they were probably made by special order, and anyone who sees them will conclude that they do not look very imposing. Some users of social networks have compared them to battered, many times washed towels in old resorts or hospitals.
They also wrote that the children were "especially happy with the towels" - because of course that's what every child wants to receive from Santa Claus. There were also witty parents, who managed to play with the children with towels - they used the towels to make hair like Princess Leia had in Star Wars.
Expensive goods
The gift is not looked in the teeth, except when you pay for it. Because, the councilors of the Start-Change Movement claim that the municipal budget includes items whose value is estimated at over 4.000 dinars per piece, and they doubt that these packages were paid that much - per piece.
At the tender, the company FORMA-VS DOO from Rakovica was awarded the job of making the packages, which states that it is engaged in the production and sale of textile items. For 20.000 packets, the aforementioned company received more than 80 million dinars from the Municipality of Novi Beograd. She was the only bidder at the tender.
Kreni-Promeni councilors therefore left the session of the New Belgrade City Council, saying that there was complete non-transparency of the budget for 2026.
