Just one day after it was discovered that the signature of journalist Jelen Zorić was forged on two election lists: "Ćale, this is for you" and "Serbia in the West", the city election commission rejected the journalist's objections. GIK practically says that in both cases the authorized submitters of the list submitted the required number of legally valid written statements, that the certified written statements of the voters were duly prepared, signed by the voters and certified by the competent authorities.
"As a journalist, I have always fought for the work and respect of Serbian institutions, given that it is of public interest." Now I feel that my personal data has been misused through the same institutions, given that the act of forging my signatures was committed," says journalist Jelena Zorić for the "Vremena" portal.
She points out that this kind of organized theft and misuse of data, handed over with the seal of a notary public, cannot be carried out without the role of state services, and that this is pure organized crime for which someone must be held accountable.
"I see that the GIK is completely uninterested in this case, no state body such as the Ombudsman, the Commissioner, the Prosecutor's Office advertises itself." I will use all legal means, but I think that judges, commissioners and prosecutors should react on their own based on media information, but also to check that their signatures were not accidentally forged somewhere," concludes Zorić.
Members of the City Election Commission Sofija Mandić, Zoran Alimpić and Vladica Ilić announced at a press conference on Monday a series of new irregularities which they determined on the submitted lists for the Belgrade elections. Journalist Jelena Zorić was among those whose signatures, without approval, were among those submitted to GIK.
