US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Sunday that the US was "working overtime" to verify reports of missing and dead Americans.
The Security Cabinet voted tonight that Israel is officially at war, and that it can carry out "significant military activities," the Israeli Prime Minister's Office announced, reports CNN.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has previously said that the country is at war, after Hamas terrorists infiltrated southern Israel, killing more than 600 people.
Meanwhile, the number of Israelis killed rose from 300 to at least 600 in the Hamas attack.
The Hamas-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip said 370 Palestinians were killed and 2.200 wounded in the Israeli counterattack.
The IDF announced that at least 400 Palestinian terrorists were killed in both Israel and Gaza attacks.
The US, a close ally and major arms supplier to Israel, could provide additional military aid after the Hamas attack, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.
"We are considering the specific additional demands made by the Israelis." You'll hear more about that throughout the day," Blinken said.
Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said earlier on Sunday that the US was "working overtime" to verify reports of missing and dead Americans overseas after Hamas launched the attack.
"We have reports that several Americans have been killed." We're working overtime to confirm it. At the same time, there are reports of missing Americans, and again we are working to confirm those reports," Blinken told CNN.
