He told journalists after visiting the Regional Training Center for Dual Education in Svilajnac, and that there is a legal option for him to become prime minister even without an election, but that he will not do so.
"There is an option for me and the government to resign and in two days for the Assembly to elect me as Prime Minister, if I have a majority in the Assembly, but that is not an option for me," said Vučić. "When I am, and if I ask for a vote from the people for that position, only when I get a vote from the people for that position can I possibly become it. So, even though it's all according to the law, even though it's completely legal and legitimate, I won't do it," said Vučić.
He added that first, probably, the government will resign, or the assembly will inform that it does not have the required majority, and then he will remain the president of the Republic for "a few days or two weeks at the most" because he has "many important tasks to do concerning the state of Serbia", explained Vučić.
He added that then he will join the "United Serbia" list.
"And there is no great philosophy: I get into my car, my 'pity' is waiting for me, and I go around Serbia from place to place to ask for people's support for the mandate of the prime minister, if such a decision is made," said Vučić.
Only, while in the function of the President of the Republic with his state entourage at the expense of the state he is conducting an intensive campaign for himself and the Serbian Progressive Party, he cannot say when he will sit down and start campaigning in Serbia, i.e. when he will finally call for elections.
