The President of the Assembly of Serbia today announced the elections for councilors of the Zaječar City Assembly and the Kosjerić Municipal Assembly for June 8 this year.
As Ana Brnabić says, I set the last date in which local elections can be held, so that all interested participants have time for candidacy and a quality election campaign.
She wished everyone success in the elections and that the best candidates win.
The previous elections in these two local self-government units were held on March 28, 2021, both then-elected Assemblies were constituted on May 28 of that year, so the time has come to call for new local elections, Brnabić stated.

The elections in Kosjerić and Zaječar are, as analyst Aleksandar Ivković pointed out earlier for Danas, a demonstrative exercise for the political articulation of the popular uprising in Serbia, but again, as during earlier election processes, the question arises whether local opposition members should go to the elections or boycott them, given the constant allegations of irregular election conditions, both at the national and local levels.
