Secretary General People's Party (NS) On Wednesday, Anja Jević submitted to Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić a people's initiative to determine the responsibility of the Supreme Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Serbia Zagorke Dolovac due to the non-functioning of the prosecution system.
Anja Jević stated at the press conference that Dolovac was the one most called upon to react after the fall of the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station, but she "wasn't there".
"Her silence, and later the appointment of some incompetent personnel, contributed to the deep dissatisfaction of citizens and deepened distrust in the legal system," added Anja Jević.
She believes that the departure of Zagoka Dolovac from office is a prerequisite for the necessary institutional changes.
According to her, the citizens recognized this, which is why the initiation of the people's initiative to determine the responsibility of Zagorka Dolovac before the parliament is primarily a responsible and moral act.
The President of the People's Party, Vladimir Gajić, stated that the dismissal of Zagorka Dolovac can be established on the basis of Article 155 of the Constitution of Serbia, and if the initiative does not receive the approval of the Parliament within 15 days, the NS acquires the right to collect citizens' signatures.
Gajić explained that in that case, they would need 30.000 valid signatures of citizens of legal age who have exercised their right to vote.
After the verification of the collected signatures, the initiative would be returned to the Assembly for a plenary decision.
