The tension in the Kragujevac Assembly has reached a new level - the building is under heavy security, citizens and journalists are denied access, and the opposition accuses the government of stifling democracy and avoiding responsibility
Although the councilors oppositions from the beginning they hinder the work of the assembly in Kragujevac, the councilors of the majority, despite the noise and uproar, do everything to hold the session. Citizens are prevented from entering the building - not only to the session, which according to the Law and Rules of Procedure they can attend, but also to perform any administrative tasks. There is no one at the counters, and journalists have also been removed from the session, reports N1.

Councilor of the Kragujevac initiative Slađan Rakić said that opposition councilors have been trying for months to establish a dialogue with the authorities in the city.
"However, they are arrogant and blind. Today, they take off the agenda. One session is held for three months. Today, the Kragujevac is full of police officers. Who are they afraid of? of its citizens," he said.

He reminded that today is Tuesday, a working day, and there is no reason why the counters in the Assembly should not be open.
He added that the president of the assembly did not allow the citizens to participate because they did not submit a request.
"Every third month, when the session is scheduled, they close the gallery, which is intended for citizens, and put up scaffolding and say that the gallery is under reconstruction. Now they started to whitewash it three months ago. So, they are deliberately obstructing the citizens from attending the sessions, even though the Rules of Procedure of the City of Kragujevac allow it," he said.
He said that the opposition will continue to somehow try to hinder the work of the City Assembly, because they are not satisfied with the way the ruling majority works.
