The High Court in Novi Sad announced on Tuesday that it had issued decisions rejecting the proposal to order custody Goran Vesić, his assistant Anita Dimoski and former minister Jelena Tanasković, defendants in the case the roof of the railway station in Novi Sad falls.
In this way, the High Court responded to the prosecutor's proposal that their detention be extended after the indictment was filed, and Dimoski and Tanasković had their detention measures extended.
At the same time, the custody of Nebojša Šurlan, Slobodan Naumović, Ljiljana Milić Marković, Marina Gavrilović, Dejan Todorović, Milan Jelkić, Zorica Slavković Marjanović, Dušan Janković, Milan Spremić and Jasna Stojiljković Milić was extended.
Against those decisions, the Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad, the defendants and their defense attorneys have the right to appeal to the Court of Appeal in that city, and the court will decide on the indictment filed in the further course of the proceedings, it was stated in the announcement.
The indictment against Vesić is a farce
The Novi Sad opposition, which consists of all the opposition councilor groups in the City Assembly, assessed that the court's refusal to accept the prosecution's request that Vesić be in custody is confirmation that it is a farce for the purposes of calming public opinion and an attempt to appease the dissatisfaction of students and end their protests .
"Not a single affair in Serbia has received a judicial epilogue, so apparently neither will the case of the brutal murder of 15 people in Novi Sad, because every one, starting with Jovanjica, the helicopter crash, murders at the toll booth and others for which people from the government are responsible, ends in a judicial a dispute that lasts for years and then an acquittal or a settlement with some who are not guilty, to take the blame on themselves with a certain compensation," the statement said.
It is pointed out that the authorities bombastically announced that the prosecutor's office had decided to file charges against Vesić, but the court already on Tuesday, when citizens follow the media less because of the New Year's celebration, decided to reject the proposal for his detention, which was obvious because about an ordinary farce.
The Novi Sad opposition said that it will not give up its demands until they are fulfilled, and that is criminal responsibility for all those who concealed the loss of 15 people's lives and two people were seriously injured, and political responsibility for those who created the climate in the state and Novi Sad. In Sad, in which corruption, arrogance and dishonesty in business is a normal occurrence, namely the Prime Minister of Serbia Miloš Vučević and the Mayor of Novi Sad Milan Đurić
