Requirements students they have support pensioner, and they should be united and supported in this, in order for Serbia to be organized as a democratic society in which decisions are made by institutions, and judicial bodies work in accordance with the Constitution and laws, the president of the Union of Retired Military Personnel of Serbia, Jovan Tamburić, told "Vreme". announcing for February 5 a gathering of pensioners who will provide their support to students in an organized manner on that day.
The pensioners will gather at 10:30 a.m. at Trg Republike, after which they will walk to Student Square where, together with the students, they will pay their respects to the citizens who died at the Railway Station in Novi Sad and to the pensioners who were victims of the fire at the "Ivanović" home for the elderly in Barajevo.
It is a huge lie that Vučić gives pensions
There are many reasons for the gathering, Tamburić pointed out, and in addition to supporting students, they also concern informing pensioners about their rights and the financial situation in which they live.
"The majority of pensioners are misinformed by the influence of the media with a national frequency, and because of this they do not express themselves, because they do not have objective information about the state of the pension system, nor about the state of society," Tamburić said.
He pointed out that society has created an image that pensions are paid by Vučić, "which is a huge lie with which pensioners are misinformed, and some of them, less educated, believe that there is no pension without Vučić, which is not true."
"The base of support that Vučić has among pensioners can only be explained by freeing the media and providing objective information on the media with a national frequency that pensioners follow the most. It will also be explained with information about the state of the pension system and the fact that the current government stole the pension system from current and future pensioners and is abusing it for its own political purposes, which there is a lot of evidence for, Tamburić said.
There is no information about the tragedy in Barajevo
He emphasized that he is not sure that the majority of pensioners support the current government.
"If we know that more than one million pensioners live at and below the poverty line, I cannot accept that these pensioners support the current government, while living in poverty," Tamburić said.
In connection with the tragedy in the home for the elderly "Ivanović" in Barajevo, he pointed out that neither the Ministry of Internal Affairs nor the prosecutor's office "practically do not work in accordance with the law" and reminded that these institutions are obliged to inform the public about all the details.
"What we know is that that home does not have a license to operate in accordance with the law, and all of this is a consequence of the social policy led by the current government." There are not enough state homes for the elderly, so private individuals who work outside the law have been brought into that business. This shows the government's attitude towards pensioners".
He stated that his association had already joined the pensioners' protests and informed the public about it in mid-December and twice organized an action to collect funds needed by students, were at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, and we were also present at blockades organized by students.
