Center for Social Stability from Novi Sad will organize "Citizens Against Blockades" rallies on Sunday in more than 200 locations, and in Belgrade a protest walk will be held to the building Radio and Television of Serbia in Takovska street, where it will be requested that the public service "truthfully, comprehensively and responsibly reports on events that concern all citizens".
In one of the announcements, the Center invites citizens to join the gatherings and to demonstrate with a peaceful, family walk what "the silent majority in Serbia thinks about the months-long blockades of colleges and roads, and the social instability encouraged by the radical minority."
The center stated that the rallies begin at 17 p.m., and that it expects the presence of more than 200.000 citizens who will send "a strong message that it is time to stop the illegal blockades, violence and social divisions within our nation."
Choirs of Novi Sad: "Mocking the victims' families"
The citizens' choirs of Novi Sad invited fellow citizens to gather in the Novi Sad settlements of Klisa and Saylovo on Sunday.
"Come and show the citizens in which direction the prison is - Klisa and Sajlovo. Sunday, September 28. More details soon," reads the invitation to the citizens' assemblies.
In the settlement of Klisa is the District Prison, which houses students and citizens arrested during the protests of the previous months.
Citizens' choirs called on the people of Novi Sad not to allow "shameless and conscience-stricken boys" to walk the streets of the city where 16 people died because of "corrupt government".
"We will not watch the arrogant, careless and corrupt walk through the city where, due to their irresponsibility, sixteen of our neighbors were buried. Sixteen people. Sixteen lives. These are not numbers, these are the faces we saw every day," the chorus stated in their call.
They assessed that every walk against blockades organized by the government is "a mockery of the victims' families".
"Each of their walks through our streets will be a mockery of mothers' tears, a mockery of the sleepless nights of fathers, a mockery of the silence that has descended on our neighborhoods. They are not walking through the city - they are stepping on memories, on graves, on the blood of the innocent," the Choirs of Novi Sad citizens stated.
"Farewell to the children"
The informal group Mladi s juga invited the citizens of Vranje to a gathering at "mapica" on Sunday at 17 p.m., under the slogan "Farewell to the children".
As they state in the invitation, the gathering is being organized as a reaction to the announced gathering of supporters of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) on the same day, which they assess as a "paradox of paradoxes" and "embarrassing the city", Juzne Vesti reports.
The organizers state that supporters of the authorities will gather for daily wages, out of blackmail, because they have to, in order to "block against blockades".
"We invite all our fellow citizens who have integrity and dignity to send a clear message together: That Vranje is not a city of children. That we want a dignified life, not humiliation and blackmail. That the great shame will not be repeated again," announced the Youth from the South.
